Introduction

Please Allow me to introduce my self to you. My name is Jorge Moreyra IPMS USA # 39132, your new Regional Coordinator (RC-13) for the newly re-organized Region 13.

My interests in model making are 1/72nd aircraft, rotor, armor, and 1/700 ships. This all started back in the 1970's when the most popular scale was 1/72 !! It was deeemd the "International " scale. As of lately, there has been a big swing towards large models, so, whatever your choices are,

keep on modeling! As far as family, I have a beautiful daughter (now 36) and a fantastic wife, who supports my everyday whims! Being of Cuban origin, I am fluent in Spanish too! I am presently living in Miami, Florida.

I work as a Consultant for the County in charge of the Metrorail system in South Florida. I have attended a few of the IPMS UK NAtionals, and every IPMS USA Nationals since 1985 and plan on doing some more!! If you've never been

to one, I strongly suggest doing so, the experience is incredible! I have met many great modelers from all over the world, Israel, Mexico, Puerto Rico (Jose Rivera,

Jorge Mustafa), Canada, Brazil, well, too many to list here!

REGION 13 BUSINESS

Folks, Region 13 has a most unique setup, since "we" are

set apart from the others. Canada, Philipppines, Puerto Rico, Alaska, Brazil, etc..What is unique is that we are not physically attached to "mainland" USA. This presents a

different situation as far as Regional shows are concerned

and not only my ability to travel long distances, but also

to some of you. I do plan to try and make some of your

shows, all depending on time and costs..But, I will be on some of your shows, PROMISE! ..Regardless, we will still make an impact on IPMS USA and what we do as modelers.

I believe that in reality, we are SPECIAL !! I believe that

to truly represent anyone or any group, one must be accesible at all times and provide support, or guidance and to follow up as such. So, being your humble servant, I will have my services available to all, anytime. Suggestions and ideas are always welcomed, so please, don't be shy with them! To begin, it seems to me that by establishing a newsletter and Web site, it will be beneficial and informative to all. I will follow up this message soon to discuss any ideas or suggestions on how to approach this.

I have a lot of ideas floating in my head already and can't

wait to share them with you. Being fluent in Spanish, I hope to better communicate IPMS USA interests with those members of Spanish origins. Hence, I will originate my messages from now on in both English and Spanish for everyone.

Please keep in mind that we are now in the Chapter Renewal process and the earlier, the better!! 2008 is right around

the corner!

PERSONAL

Permitan que me introduzca a ustedes, los miembros latinos de IPMS USA.Soy el nuevo Coordinador de la nueva Region 13 de IPMS USA. Mi nombre es Jorge Moreyra, soy de origen Cubano,y resido en Miami, FLorida, EE.UU. Trabajo para el condado de Miami como Consultante de los medios de
Transportacion Metrorail. Tengo una hija bella ( tiene 36 ya - como pasa el tiempo!), y una Santa en mi esposa. La pobre, como me aguanta cosas, especialmente lo del modelismo! De todos modos, mis intereses son en la escala Internacional de 1/72. Aviones, helicopteros, tanques, carros blindados, y los barcos en 1/700 escala. He tenido la ventaja de atender algunos shows Nacionales en Inglaterra, y desde 1985, las Nacionales de IPMS USA, y espero atender muchos mas!.. La verdad es que he conocido a muchos modelistas del mundo entero. De Mexico, Brazil, Israel, Puerto Rico (Jose Rivera, Jorge Mustafa), y muchos mas que la lista es larga y tendida.

REGION 13 - IMPORTANTE

La verdad es que la Region 13 es unica. Aparte de ser separada fisicamente en geografia, las distancias son bien grandes. Pero eso no es ninguna barrena. No es importante la distancia, solo especialmente lo del modelismo. Tengo muchas ideas en mente en como beneficiar esta Region, ejemplos serian una publicacion (Newsletter), una presencia en la red permanente, y mucho mas que ya les dejare saber en mi proximo mensaje. Por ahora, yo sere su humilde servidor y abrir las puertas para cualquier cosa que tengan en mente discutir. Las ideas y sugerencias claro que siempre seran bien recibidas. No solo tenemos una Region especial, pero ahora, tenemos por primera vez en la historia de IPMS USA , un latino como coordinador! Asi que , para alante y no paremos!!

Este es el tiempo de renovar sus clubs, asi que , alante! Vamos a ver si somos los primeros en tener todos los clubs un 100% renovados!
